Back when I used to have a lot more time on my hands, I would sometimes go wander around late at night and take photographs documenting the city at that time.

This is a warehouse in LIC, near where 30 Rock is filmed. Looks spooky here.
I have a pretty limited understanding of effects in photography. What I do know is that I like long exposures-- images like this one express what this place on this night was like better than any other way I know of.
Even at night, there's so much light. On a night like this one, with heavy cloud cover, everything is brighter and more moody. Like a movie set.
This powerful deep red scared me a little, but I was drawn to the way it lit up the LIC side of the river.
